The Annual Parish Meeting is normally held in May each year. It is not a meeting of the Parish Council, but an assembly of the electors of the parish. Electors can raise any matter relevant to the parish, discuss it and vote upon it at the Meeting. The Meeting can pass resolutions for the Parish Council to consider. Such resolutions are 'pursuasive' only and the Parish Council will need to decide whether to act on them or not, usually at its next meeting.
The meeting is organised by the Parish Council and chaired by its Chairman. As well as members of the Parish Council, representatives from public organisations including the the Police, District and County Councils are often present. Its a great opportunity to find out about their work and ask questions.
