Regrettably, the Parish Council is still unable to hold face to face public meetings, so the Annual Parish Meeting and the Parish Council AGM, both of which were due to be held at the Village Hall, this coming Tuesday evening (12th May), have been postponed.
However the government’s Covid 19 emergency legislation enables Parish Councils to meet remotely via an electronic platform. We will be trialing the technology using the on-line platform Zoom next week and all being well will then hold both the APCM and AGM on Tuesday 26th May at 7.00pm via this facility. We will post further details on this, together with the agenda nearer the time on our website, the village Facebook page and on the notice boards as usual
Members of the public are entitled to ‘attend’. If you do not already have it, you will need to download the Zoom app so you can be logged in on the night. As this is our first attempt at a virtual meeting, we may have to limit the number of public who can join, but we will see how much interest there is before making this decision. Please email your interest to the clerk as soon as possible.
It will not be possible this time for live public participation, but if you have any questions, please email these to the clerk as well.
The AGM is largely procedural. As councils have been advised to put any major project work on hold pending reinstatement of regular face to face meetings, further virtual ordinary meetings of the Parish Council are likely to be for essential business only.
